Happy Halloween

This will probably be the least Halloweeny post ever as i'm not celebrating this year apart from giving out sweeties to the littlies who look so cute.
I hope everyones having a good weekend? Mine has been lovely, i'm feeling good after our little practise last week and now only have 4 weeks to go officially. Next week our little man will be able to arrive without being deemed premature so i'm starting to feel very chilled. I've also been out for a lovely lunch today with a couple of friends and had a good gossip.

The cot is ready and waiting(excuse my hosptial bag at the foot), the pram is ready and waiting(after spending an age trying to figure it out) and we are getting impatiant!

I also went out for lunch in Leeds with Phil on Friday, we popped into Cath Kidston to get this cute towel and flannel.

And i picked up this photo frame, i'm trying to buy different ones rather then a set that are all the same, this is pretty although its just a card frame :( I also grabbed a couple of basic cardigans in Primark in black and purple(to boring to take photos of) and this lovely bow bangle.
I would just like to thank everyone for their comments on my last couple of posts. It means alot to me that people care. This year has been full of massive changes and blogging has kept me sane!

Ins and Outs

Ins

  • Gorgeous fresh Autumn days, i love this season and all the colours that come with it.
  • Ebay, have sold some bits on there and made myself a little spending money.
  • Christmas shopping and wrapping. I've done all the little ones in our family, i just need to buy for the adults now, i'm determined to enjoy it as by the time Christmas does come round i'm likely to be exhausted!
  • Looking to the future, i have so much to look forward to in the next few weeks and i feel so lucky. Most of you know that bump was most definately not planned but i'm just so contented and excited about everything.
  • Leopard print is back, well for me it never really went away.
  • Blogging, well bloggers. Everyone is so lovely and i really appreciate all the lovely comments i get.

Outs
  • Family pressures! A certain males mother is dropping heavy hints that she wants to be there at the birth, or be there right afterwards. Erm no, i don't want an audience either while giving birth or trying to bond in the few hours afterwards.
  • No baby name still!
  • I called the birth centre to book in to give birth to find its been closed for 3 weeks and will be for the forseeable future so i can't have bump there. I'm so gutted about it as its lovely there and i really didn't want a hospital birth.

Heart tights!

Hello everyone, i hope you're all having a fab weekend. Phils at work all weekend so i spent yesterday with my parents, did a little shopping with my mum and then came home to watch X Factor with Phil.
Today i'm having a cleaning day and possibly will be baking a ginger cake later on.
A quick outfit post.
Black dress with pearly buttons-Primark, Black and White heart tights-ASOS
Over knee heeled boots-La Redoute
35 weeks today, at my midwife appointment last week the baby was measuring 38 weeks!! So 4 weeks ahead! He's in the right place to come so its a waiting game now(an uncomfortable one though!). The good news is as long as he stays in for another 2 weeks i can have him at a birth centre which is much nicer then hospital but without all the drugs!
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday xxx

Fashion favourites

I've been tagged by the lovely Lisa to post my fashion favourites. Here goes!

What's your favourite fashion accessory?
I love quirky necklaces, i like them to funk up otherwise boring outfits.
Who's your fashion role model?
I don't really have a role model to be honest. I love Sienna Millers wardrobe in Factory Girl if that counts?!
How would you describe your style?
I'd like to think its feminine but funky. You all know i only ever wear dresses/skirts and i love heels.

What's your favourite? Jeans, sunglasses or heels?
Heels! Closely followed by sunglasses! I love my shoes and am missing wearing my highest heels at the moment.
Who are your favourite designers?
I'm going to be predictable and say Chanel. One day i'd love to own a small piece. I also love Chanel make up, the quality is so good and the packaging is beautiful.

Who or what inspires your style?
My mood, the weather and seeing peoples blogs or even people out and about. I saw a girl who looked amazing a few days ago, she was wearing velvet leggings, minky coloured faux fur coat, red hair and bright lippie, doesn't sound too good written down but she looked amazing.

Would you choose to buy something high quality or make it yourself if you could?
I would love to be able to sew but i am totally and utterly useless. My nan used to be a dressmaker and my mum is brilliant at sewing/knitting but i don't seem to have inherited the gene!
I'm going to tag anyone who hasn't already done this! xx

Outfit and buy of the day

Halfway through the week everyone! Its been gorgeous here today, cold but lovely and sunny and fresh. It was Phils day off so we went to our nearest shopping centre to get started on Christmas. Ideally i'm trying to get it all done by mid November so i don't need to worry about it with a newborn.
I wore a nice simple outfit after trying on about a million things and deciding i looked awful in all of them(i hate days like this).
Leopard jumper dress-Oasis, Black opaques
Black and cream pumps-La Redoute
And meet our buy of the day......Bob the bear. He is the bumps official first bear. We got him from the build a bear shop, i've never been in one before and it was fab. We didn't get any of the clothes or anything as obviously its for a newborn and will only be sat in his cot and not played with for quite a while, but i love him. You even make a birth certificate!
Tonights plans for me are these lovely pick n mix sweeties(a total rip off) and The Apprentice, is anyone else watching this series?

Review: Tesco Vitamin E skincare range

This is just a really simple review on some products I'm currently using from the Tesco Vitamin E range. I ordered the wipes in with our online shop as i was running low, most of the branded wipes seem to bring me out in spots so i thought I'd try these. After using them i was impressed and so purchased the moisturising lotion and face scrub to try out.
I've done some mini reviews in case anyone else would like to try them out.
Tesco say 'this range has been enriched with Vitamin E for its antioxident, protecting and conditioning properties to care for your skin.'

Face wipes
+ Total bargain, 25 wipes in a pack for 48p.
+ Nice sized wipes, not too huge or small.
+ Gets lots of dirt off(does anyone else find it satisfying seeing how much dirt comes off?!)
+ Smell fresh and clean.
+ Pack stays sealed when you close it properly so the wipes don't dry out.
+ Skin feels clean after use and they don't dry my skin out or leave me greasy.

- Packaging is very basic.
- They don't remove very heavy eye make up(I've never found a wipe that does remove it all though)

Moisturising lotion
+ Another bargain 72p for 150ml.
+ Very light cream which is good for my oily t-zone.
+ A little goes a long way!
+ Sinks in quickly leaving soft skin.
+ A good base for make up.

- Probably to light for those with drier skin or as the weather gets colder/windier.
- No SPF
- No pretty packaging.

Face scrub
+ You guessed it, another bargain! 60p for 150ml.
+ Not too harsh.
+ I used with my scrublet to work into my skin and it was perfect for this.

- I found it a bit runny.
- Not as scrubby as i would like, was ok with my scrublet but probably not on its own.
- Again no pretty packaging.

Overall i'm happy with what i tried and for the prices you aren't losing anything if you don't like them.
The range has quite a few products apart from the ones I've tried they also do a facial wash, cleanser, toner, night cream, eye make up remover and hand cream all for less then £1. I think i might try the night cream and will be stocking up on the wipes for when baby is here for speed and ease!

Bump update

I can't remember the last bump photo that i posted so i've put my last 3 on this post. I'm soo huge now, i can't wait to get this baby out!
I've had a love/hate relationship with pregnancy, hated the sickness at the start, loved the middle part but now i'm near the end i'm so uncomfortable and tire so easily! I'm 34 weeks now, so 6 weeks to go. Everyone keeps saying they think he'll be earlier as he's measuring big and i've had some signs that labour is impending! I'd be happy for him to be come in about 3 weeks when he is officially all cooked and ready for the world.
I tried my pre pregnancy jeans(yes i do own one pair of jeans!) on last week and i can still get them on and done up underneath my bump so that pleased me! Anyway enough waffling heres the photos.
32 weeks
33 weeks
34 weeks- i look sooo huge here!
Hope everyone had a fab weekend xxx

2 nails of the day next!
Firstly Chanel's Rose Insolent so pretty, will be gorgeous come Spring/Summer
and Models Own Grace Green, i looooooooooooove this, perfect for the Autumn weather

Finally, i would like to say a massive thank you to the lovely Eleanor from Pretty Much Penniless who sent me these gorgeous dolls. They are too cute.
xxxx

Normal service is resumed

Yay i have fully up and running internet again. Its funny how muich you miss something when its not there.
I don't have much news to report really, still very much pregnant! Phil is out tonight on what will probably be his last big night out before baby is born so i'm home watching Strictly and X Factor enjoying the delights of practice contractions.
Its my mums 60th birthday today, its strange when your parents get to big milestones. I never think of her as being a whole 60 years old! She is one stylish mummy! I got her a gorgeous bracelet and embarrassed her in public by presenting her with this subtle balloon.
I've been buying a few bits this week. I got this gorgeous lambswool/angora mix dress from Oasis, i love it, leopard print is my favourite, i can wear it now and after bumpy is here due to the shape.
Also grabbed a few boring bits from Boots

Had a mini Lush haul

Got this gorgeous Models Own polish in Grace Green, i've wanting a Khaki nail polish so thats one thing off my wishlist!
Then i popped into town this week and got these newbies to my collection for £5. I love the bows and they have lovely chunky heels.
I've got a few posts lined up for this week to make up for my time away. Look of for nails of the day, outfits of the day and a skincare review. I've also got some updated bump photos, i don't think i can get much bigger without bursting now!
Ohhh i'm sooo looking forward to reasing through everyones blogs now! xxxx

Recipe- Italian Rice with Chickem

I thought i'd do a quick post with this recipe as its mine and Phils current favourite. Its really easy and tastes gorgeous. This makes enough for 2 generous portions.

You'll need
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 skinless boneless chicken breast fillets diced
1 red onion , cut into 8 wedges or smaller if you prefer
1 garlic clove chopped
100g long grain rice
400g chopped tomatoes
300ml chicken stock

Turn your oven on to heat up at 200C
Heat the oil in a large pan, add your chicken and cook for a few minutes until it goes golden, then remove it from the pan and set aside(i just pop it onto a plate)
Add the onions into the pan and cook for a few minutes until it starts to brown and then add in the garlic and cook for a further minute. Now add and stir in the rice, the tomatoes, the chicken stock and the chicken that had been set aside.
Now turn the heat up and bring the pan to the boil. Now transfer to an ovenproof dish, pop into the oven for 20 minutes uncovered.
Season to taste before you serve.
If you like you can add chopped peppers into this recipe by adding them at the same time as the onions, they'd make it lovely and bright but sadly Phil doesn't like peppers so i forgo them!

Nail of the day

I love deep dark colours as the weather changes.
Revlons Plum Nights was in loads of magazines last year and i was lucky enough to be able to find it in a local Boots.
For some reason i can't leave comments on peoples blogs, i had this before and it worked again after a few days so hopefully it will this time!

Make up storage

I decided to have a massive clear out of my make up box this week, ts still full but i did throw loads away, honestly!
Before putting away
And.... after! I love my make up box, its one of the most handy things i've ever bought
MAC shadows(2 deep) Barry M dusts and my most used lippies

Mascaras and liquid liners, pencil liners, more eyeshadows that get used regularly and my favourite lipglosses(yes i love Chanel lipgloss!)

Other make up thats not used much, then my brushes, then at the bottom, concealers, foundations, blushers etc
I noticed that alot of the things i threw out were Avon products that i'd ordered and never ended up using or didn't get on with. I like Avon for certain things but think i'll refrain from their make up for now!

A couple of buys

You may have noticed i've not been buying much for myself lately, babies are bloody expensive! Its actually been really good for me and i've been getting much more wear out of the things i have already.
On Friday i went to Leeds(and got soaked) to get some last bits for my hospital bag and also a present for a secret stork i am taking part in on a baby site. While there i managed to pick up a couple of small bits for me!
I love this hat, its soooo me, i put it on straight away a you can tell by the rain on it!
The bow has little pearls on it
I also treated myself to a nail polish, its a new one from Chanel called Rose Insolent

Its not as bright at it looks here, watch out for a nail of the day with it soon!
Lastly i got this fab heart shaped silicon baking tin, i can't wait to use it.
I had my most recent midwife appointment on Friday, everything is good, but bump is measuring between 3 and 4 weeks bigger then average! He's either going to be early or huge!!
Hope you've all been having fab weekends xx
