The return of Sweet Valley High!

I was mooching around the Daily Mail(i know, i know) website when i came across this article.

Bloggers of a certain age will certainly remember Sweet Valley High books fondly, i was such a fan of Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield that i even read some books about when they were younger children and some when they were at uni. I also loved the TV show.

The author Francine Pascal is releasing a new book Sweet Valley Confidential: Ten Years On which details the twins lives now they are in their late twenties and i for one am pre ordering my copy from Amazon.

These books along with Judy Blume books were my favourites when i was at that weird age between child and teenager.

Did you read Sweet Valley High? xxx

One of those days

Well its been a day of things going wrong!

Firstly Phil fell down the stairs at 5am this morning then Seb fell off the bed(he is fine!) and then Seb headbutted me! We also missed Aquababies.

From them on the day got much better, it was Phils day off so we went into town for a pub lunch and to buy more bowls and things for Seb. Then this afternoon i purreed, and purreed and purreed some more, Seb now has lots of frozen meals to try out.

As promised here is my outfit from yesterday.

Outfit from the weekend

Phil had to work all of the weekend so on Saturday i spent the day at my parents. My dad seems to have the magic touch with Seb as soon as he takes him, Seb is all smiles and giggles.

In other news Seb has had his first taste of food, i tried him with some baby porridge to see how he would react and he wasn't sure as first but soon learned to love it and ate it all. I've got loads of fresh fruit and veg in to puree and freeze for him to eat over the next few weeks.

Me and Seb went to a local shopping centre today, very dissapointed with the high streets current offerings. Tomorrow Phil is off so we're going to Aquababies and then off to get more bowls and spoons and full body bibs for Seb.

Outfit post and possibly photos of the couple of bits i got today to follow.

Ohh and forget to enter my giveaway here.

On Friday i(well Seb) received a lovely parcel from Tesco Clothing to celebrate the launch of their baby event(its going on until 6th April).

They are currently doing loads of fab offers on baby products which is always handy. I've stocked up on some nappies to keep us going! There is also 20% off baby clothing in Tesco.
They sent Seb a fab noisy toy which he loves.

Basically they will give you £10 off a spend on Tesco Clothing as long as your basket value is of £11, you would need to pay for postage. What i wore

To feed the ducks yesterday. The ungrateful beggars swam away and didn't eat any of it! To be fair to them i think alot of people have been out over the last few days to feed them due to the weather!
Ohh and you can see here that I've painted my mirror frame over the weekend, its now a much prettier lavender.

Naughty me

no posts for a little while! I've been off having fun!
The weekend started off a bit rubbish. I didn't get to Frankensteins wedding as my friend cancelled on me and i couldn't get anyone else to go so last minute, even my mum was poorly!
Anyway from then on my weekend perked up. Sunday we spent the day at home waiting for our shopping and we had some family come to visit and coo over Seb.
Monday was aquababies which was brilliant as usual and then on Tuesday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went to a local farm. We had such a fantastic day, its a brilliant place and we will definately be going again. I took loads of photos but just thought i'd pop a couple on here rather then boring you!

Me and Seb in the play area, my first time in sunnies this year :)

Rabbit cuddles:) They also had newborn baby rabbits there.

I really hope everyone has had the chance to get out and enjoy the weather, its really cheering.
Normal posts back tomorrow :)

Its the weekend!

Photobucket

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, not only is Phil not working but he also has Monday and Tuesday off too! Do you have plans?

Tomorrow we're off the park with our little chunk(all 14lb 13oz of him) and then tomorrow night i'm off to Frankensteins Wedding. Sunday the shopping is being delivered and might have some people over. Monday we're all going to Aquababies and then Tuesday we're going to have some kind of day out, i'm researching somewhere suitable.
I thought i'd post my outfit from yesterday not the greatest pics but you get the idea. Ohh and excuse the mess we were in the middle of tidying.

Yeeehhaaa

I've aquired a few bits over the last week or so, so thought i'd share them.
Firstly i'd like to thank the lovely Laura for sending me these fab cake cases. I admired them on her blog and couldn't find them locally so she very kindly sent me some. I couldnt resist using some straight away so i made some cornflake cakes with marshmallows as i'd been craving them all week!
Photobucket
Me and Phil went into Leeds this morning to pick up my tickets for Frankensteins Wedding, while there i also wanted to pop into Cath Kidston to get this cup and bowl i'd seen for when i start to wean Seb, i love the cowboy range!
Photobucket
I also wanted to have a mooch in the Waitrose there, i used to work in Waitrose when i was at school and since moving to Yorkshire realised they are very sparse here. Its only a small store but i grabbed myself some hot chocolate and chocolate fingerellas yum.
Photobucket
And couldn't resist this pretty cake.
Photobucket
Marks and Spencer had an online sale last week, i did a pretty boring order of towels and underwear but i did pick up this gorgeous nude bow belt.
Photobucket
I've also this pearl sunglasses chain from ASOS. I've got one of the £20 ASOS vouchers from Groupon to use but no idea what to buy with it!
Photobucket
Did you get a groupon voucher? What did you buy? x

Lovely ladies

What lovely people bloggers are. I was really touched by the comments left on my last post, and you're all right of course!

I've had a couple of people ask what i'm going to wear this weekend to Frankensteins Wedding. Well i've narrowed it down to two possible outfits.
First up is this vintage dress i got on ebay ages ago, its still got the tags on. The top part is velvet and then a layered skirt on the bottom, i'd be wearing it with a waist belt and black tights and flats(heels won't be practical).
Photobucket
The second outfit is this black velvet dress also from ebay, with a belt and again black tights and flats. This photo is really old by the way!

What do you think?

Me

I saw this on Alex's blog and it was really interesting so i thought I'd have a go.

I am.. a mother. Seb is undoubtedly the best thing that has ever happened to me. Being a mum is bloody hard work and i now have a new respect for my mum, despite that its the most rewarding thing and i can't wait to expand our little family(sooner rather then later!).

The bravest thing i have ever done.... is definitely having a baby! I had a pretty awful labour which was long, painful and at points pretty scary. I ended up having an emergency Cesarean and had to be put under general anaesthetic as they needed to get him out. It still upsets me that i wasn't awake for his birth and Phil wasn't allowed in either so we both missed it, i wish i could have given birth properly and feel like i let Seb down.

I feel prettiest when... I'm out for the night and have a few drinks inside me. That lovely confident feeling you get from alcohol can be hard to beat. Also a good flirt with someone is a guaranteed confidence booster!

Something that keeps me up at night... bad dreams, i suffer with bad dreams when i feel stressed about something and have done since i was quite young. The dreams are pretty horrific and i have 2 or 3 that are repeated.

My favourite meal is... pasta carbonara, i love this when its made properly, preferably in an Italian restaurant with something like chocolate fudge cake after.

The way to my heart is.. by making me laugh. I know its a predictable answer but its true, if someone can make me laugh then I'm their friend for life. Good cuddles are also high up there in the list, i love a good cuddle me!

I would like to be.. more adventurous, i would love to be one of those people who travel the world going from one adventure to the next. I'm much more of a homebody and live voraciously through others!

If anyone does this, please leave me a link so i can have a read xx

Its such a perfect day

Happy weekend everyone, i hope its been a good one for you.
For me its been perfect. A few photos from the last few days.

The gorgeous Daffodils Phil got me
Photobucket
My rather attractive scald from boiling water(i got my other arm on the oven later in the same evening)

Seb stayed at my mums last night for the first time, it was very weird not having him around, i had a little cry when he went. Apparantly he was as good as gold. We went out to a local Italian restaurant and then had a couple of drinks. We also got a lovely lie in and breakfast in bed.
Seb came back a bit earlier and has now gone off with Phil to a local rugby match so i'm all by myself.

This all seems rather frivolous when you consider what is going on in the world. My thoughts are with the people of Japan xxx

I'm going to Frankensteins wedding

You may have seen adverts for Frankensteins Wedding, a live TV event on BBC3 on 19th March. Well i applied for tickets thinking it would be fun and i got 2 tickets! Its being filmed at Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds.
I'm taking my friend Clare and as guests we have to learn a wedding dance(this will be interesting!) and dress up as if attending a winter wedding the bbc site says 'It's a winter wedding so think glamour and warmth. Dress up smart - wear a suit or a frock – but have fun. The colour code: Silver, gold, black and white.' I can't wait to dress up! The only thing that will be a pain is i have to get into Leeds next week to pick up tickets from the BBC building, i wish they would post them out, i'd happily pay!
Has anyone been to anything like this before? Was it good?
