The big move, finally!!

We're finally moving on Friday at last!

The next few days are going to be packing, unpacking, shopping and cleaning so i probably won't be on for a few days until we're a bit more sorted. I just want to get in now. Phil is also 25 next week(my toyboy!) so it'll be nice to be able to cook him something special in our own home.

I really wanted to borrow the Russian Dolls we have at home, but have been told there is no chance as they were a present from a family friend who went to Russia. Where can i get some for my new home? I love them! Is ebay my best bet?

This picture was taken last year when me and some friends went to Blackpool for the weekend. I'd met Phil a few weeks before and was really happy. I've no idea who the 2 topless men are but its pretty typical of me to start talking to random people and to have my photo with them.

1. I'm a good listener and would like to think people would feel comfortable speaking to me if they needed to let things out.

2.I can keep a secret. I love a gossip as much as the next girl but i can keep a secret if asked.

3. Even in the most rubbish situations i can nearly always find something to laugh about. I can laugh at myself even when i'm upset/angry. It usually helps to diffuse the situation. I love to make other people laugh too.

4. I have a brain and i love to keep it active.

5. I enjoy looking after people. I've always been a bit of a mother hen.

6. I'm generally postive bodywise, i don't have a perfect figure or even the figure of your stereotypical beauty blogger but i see no point in criticising myself for it, as long as i'm healthy i enjoy what i've got! I have really thick and strong hair, my nails are strong and ever growing and i have fab boobs!!

Pick n mix post

Well its been a busy couple of weeks really. This is just a quick post rounding up whats going on right now.

I have a new nephew born last Tuesday after a labour of nearly 2 days! Obviously i'm very excited but did have a bit of a hormonal moment as they have chosen the same name for him that we chose for our baby. Its the only name we agreed on and we decided it about 3 months ago now. It wasn't deliberate they were keeping their name choice secret and so were we. So now its back to the drawing board, any suggestions?

Meet Henry

I keep growing!! At our scan the baby measured a bit above the average, nothing to worry about but please keep your fingers crossed he isn't a 10lb-er! Now i'm quite obviously pregnant i get people giving up seats for me and touching my tummy, its really lovely! This is me last Friday so i was 21weeks and 6days.

We finally know when we're moving, the aim is to be in by Friday. The flat needed a few bits doing so we wanted that out of the way before moving in rather then messing around once we're in. I'm so rubbish at packing, i've taken a few bits over already but everything else will probably get done Thursday night.

I like you Very much

I was recently contacted by the lovely people at Very who offered me the opportunity to pick something from the website to try and review.Now i've never ordered from Very before but i was aware that they sold maternity clothes, something i'm obviously interested in at the moment. I spent a happy afternoon looking through the whole site finding items from loads of brands including Anna Lou,Kurt Geiger, Lipsy and even some Hello Kitty products.
I finally decided on this gorgeous DVO maternity dress and it arrived this week. I love it! The neckline is low and flattering, its comfy and has loads of room for me to grow. Anyone who knows me, knows that i love bows so really its the perfect dress for me! I'm going out for a nice meal next weekend and i'm saving this dress for then so i'll be posting photos of me in it. The people i dealt with at very were really lovely and friendly and my dress arrived within a couple of days so a big thumbs up for service from me!

For the love of Ikea

Yes that's right i braved Ikea today and actually it was quite pleasant. No rowing couples, no tantruming children, no trolley bashers. It was quiet and i managed to get loads of bits without spending a small fortune. I know alot of people really dislike Ikea and i wouldn't go and buy everything there as i like a bit of variety in my life but you can pick some fab bits up and the kids section is amazing. I went with my mum and we spent ages looking at all the random little bits that the men in our life would just find boring.

Hair of the day!

Another slightly different post from me!
Plaits have been around for a while now. I quite often plait my hair into simple pigtail style plaits but am useless at anything more complicated. My mums got 2 weeks off work so i decided to ask her to do my hair how she did when i was small and it provided a little bit of nice girly time for us!

I had this picture from Look magazine(last weeks i think) for her to work from.

And she did me proud! She took my fringe(still growing out) and part of the front section of my hair for the plait secured with a grip and then the rest of my hair was tied up into a secure bun with grips and it lasted the whole day.

It was a realy relief to have my long hair off my face and neck while its been so warm. I think next time we'll try with a slightly thicker plait.

More buys!

Still behind on posts! I got these bits at the weekend and am only now getting round to posting them! Its been a busy week so far, i'm packing as we can move stuff into our flat this weekend. Packing meant i finally got round to sorting out the boxes i've had in the garage for 3 years since i came back from uni. It was quite fun to go through, i found 3 cocktail shakers, drinking games, loads of photos and souviners from things we got up to.

Anyway onto the buys...

Love this cute pearl initial bracelet! Better still it was only £2 from the last dregs in the Topshop sale

I got these fab black sequin cushions from Primark, they have identical ones in Debenhams for over 5 times the price. These will be so good with the bedding i have!

Mulberry velvet dress from Primark, i love love love velvet dresses and i already have a couple of vintage ones but i couldn't resist this one

I also got this just because it made me think of Alice in Wonderland right away

Also had to get this little sleepsuit for the bump as its just too cute, it says Wanted and Reward is 1000 cuddles

I've also been buying things too boring to picture lots of bedding, towels and kitcheny bits but you'll see those when i'm properly moved and take some pictures xxx

I'm so behind! This is an outfit i wore on Friday for an appointment i had to go to. Turned out very monochrome.

I did brighten it up a bit with some red Chanel lipgloss, but forgot to take a photo of that!

A slightly different post from me, i thought i'd post one of my favourite recepies of the moment....... chocolate brownies!

You will need

400g dark chocolate (at least 55 per cent cocoa solids)
6 whole eggs
2 egg yolks

325g unsalted butter
300g caster sugar
50g cocoa powder
80g plain flour

Heat your oven to 180C/fan 160C then grease a 20cm square baking tin.

Gently melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over hot water until smooth then cool a little.

Whisk 6 whole eggs, 2 yolks and caster sugar together then fold in the melted chocolate mixture.

Sieve in the cocoa powder and flour then fold everything together until evenly mixed.
Pour into your tin and bake for 20 minutes until it rises at the edges.

Allow to cool completely in the tin.
Cut and eat! They should be gooey in the centre and slightly crisp on the crust.

I stuck some Rolos in mine last time(you can see one in the photo) copying a ready made mix i'd seen, they were lovely warm and melty!

A few buys

My spending has slowed down so much in the last few months, theres loads that i like but can't fit into!

I really love this Primark dress, its empire line so sits nicely over the bump and will be nice dressed up or down.

These tights are amazing, i got them from BHS of all places(who knew!) reduced to £4. They remind me of the Bebaroque tights pictured below.

Some new undies for my ever growing boobs, both sets from M&S. I'm avoiding the horrible maternity bras for as long as possible!

I thought i'd add my favourite couple of baby boy clothes we got this week. These dungarees are from H&M and are size 0-1 month, sooo tiny!

And i love this dinosaur striped all in one, it came with a navy one too.

We also got some other baby bits, little jeans and tee's and things. Its much nicer knowing the sex so you can get some bits.

ELF's Complexion Perfection, i'm still in love with this product. I can't believe its only £3.50, i'm about to order my third one which is unheard of for me.

My gorgeous nephew Jake is back from his holiday(obviously my brother and sister in law went with him!). I saw him earlier in the week so got my fill of smiles and cuddles. And by Monday i will have another nephew, our family seems to be expanding very quickly!

Moving, i can't wait to get in there now, although i will be sad to leave my doggies.

Bump, obviously its the most exciting thing thats ever going to happen for me!

Outs

Packing, its amazing how much stuff i have, so many clothes and shoes and books and everything. I'm trying to get rid of things but i hate throwing things out!

Big news!

Well yesterday may have been the most amazing day of my life! We went for my 20 week scan at the hospital, it was the first day of the new hospital opening so everything was lovely and shiny and new which always makes you feel better.

The lady doing the scan went through all the things she needed too and everything is normal and she told us that we are having a boy! We couldn't be happier! It was amazing we had about 30 minutes in there and he was having a really good wriggle about and at one point she let us watch him as he was kicking me really hard!

It really was brilliant, me and Phil are so excited, he is constantly stroking and kissing my stomach and we're playing him music now he can hear.

HOT HOT HOT

Ohmy its been so unbearabley hot here this weekend, its so uncomfortable especially with a bit of extra weight on! I keep thinking of my poor sister in law though 1 week til baby is due and she is huge!

In private i'm not wearing much at all, but as i did have to leave my house i thought i'd cover up a bit!

Oh happy day!

I'm so happy.

We've finally found a flat to move into, its gorgeous and lovely and affordable, its small but perfectly formed and i'm sure our little family will be happy there until we need to move somewhere a little bigger. All going well we'll be moving there in about 3 weeks, giving us time to settle before baby arrives. I can start nesting now!
