Well its another bank holiday weekend, but theres no exciting plans here. Phil is working all weekend so its me and Seb tomorrow and Sunday and then on Monday i'm heading over to my parents and then onto a BBQ at a friends house. Fingers crossed the weather is nice. Do you have any exciting plans?

I popped to our local shopping centre the other day for some basics for Seb and came back with those plus new toys for him(including his first birthday present!) and a couple of bits for me.

I picked up this tunic in Topshop, i love the colour, they also have a nice rusty colour but didn't have my size.

New buys

We went into Leeds on Friday for a little bit of retail therapy. Its funny that when you want to spend some money you can't find much to buy, even in Harvey Nichols make up department i just couldn't find anything i wanted that much. I think i must have been in a strange mood.
I got a few bits, mainly in Primark.
Daisy headband, this makes me think of Laura

Ankle and Knee highs

New pumps, these are really soft and comfy

In H&M i got this bird belt

Then this new(to me) bath ballistic in Lush

Then i went a bit nail polish crazy and got 4 new ones, i finally gave in to the hype and got the Barry M crackle polish, Barry M Yellow which is the one i was wanting, then Phil saw this Orly polish which you cant see here but its pink glitter(shade VIP) and finally this bronze colour from No.7

At least i have some new polishes to do nail of the days!
I really wanted a new dress or something but nothing jumped out at me, so i might have to browse online.

Hands up if you like Cath Kidston!

I don't know many people that don't love Cath Kidston, the pretty prints, the lovely welcoming stores and the kitchness. I'm a big fan(some of you may remember the cowboy bowl and cup i got for Seb) so you can imagine my excitement when i received an email from Jason at Cath Kidston offering me the chance to review one of their tote bags.

I was sent the Winter Meadow Regular Tote which arrived really quickly wrapped in gorgeous packaging.

Photobucket

The bag itself is lovely, the print is beautiful, its made of really thick sturdy material and its huge. There are two pockets inside which i've been using for my phone and make up bits as well as a pocket on the front of the bag.

Photobucket

As i said previously the print is really beautiful, i thought i'd do a close up!

Photobucket

Seb was quite impressed with the size of the bag!

Fiery food market and jumble sale fun

Yesterday we went into our local town as there was a Fiery Food Market on, i wanted to have a look as there were cooking demonstrations as well as lots of lovely food on sale. Our local town has gorgeous old buildings but to be honest its a bit of a dive, the shops are mostly pound shops(handy but not great for a local shopping fix), i only moved here last year so there are parts i've never seen. Yesterday Phil took me down a lovely old arcade which had some gorgeous antique jewellery shops and a proper sweetie shop, sadly half the shops were empty and in a pretty sorry state, its sad to see small towns like this.
The food market was really good and there lots of fantastic local businesses there selling their wares.
Photobucket
The cake stall was fantastic selling beautiful and unusual cakes(courgette and lime, beetroot and chocolate) but my personal favourite was the stall being run by an italian restaurant. Phil got some marinated chicken drumsticks and a banana and chocolate brownie and i went for some homemade chocolate biscuits.

I'm often found mumbling to myself about the lack of jumble sales and the like close to me. When i see all the amazing things that Vix nabs herself, i get the urge to rummage and our local charity shops are generally full of primark rather then anything interesting so i tend to use them more for books then anything else. So you can imagine my excitement when we spied a huge jumble sale outside a church in town. It was quite late in the day so there wasn't lots to rummage through but i managed to get a few bits.
I got 5 pairs of stockings/tights, i was so excited when i saw these. I might use some in as part of my upcoming giveaway.
Photobucket
I also picked up this leather bag for £1, i like the colour and shape of it, no idea where its from.
Photobucket
I couldn't resist the book stall either, and came away with these 4 to keep me going.
Photobucket
Throw in a pub lunch and the 3 of us had a lovely day.

Down at the farm

I am loving having Phil at home this week. We've been out for lunch, swimming and today we went to the farm. We did take Seb a couple of months ago but he was far to young really and slept through it, but today he loved it, obviously he didn't know about the animals but he just enjoyed looking.

They have reindeer there and it was so sweet as all the children were so excited to see Santas helpers. Personally i loved the lemurs and the marmosets but i just hate the reptile house, massive snakes? no thank you.

Up close and personal with a pony

We had these fantastic sundaes made from ice cream produced locally. Mine is the one without the cream! Photobucket

Everyone loves a meerkat!

Photobucket

Just because i love the look on Sebs face while looking at the marmosets

Tomorrow we are going shopping in Leeds, then at the weelend we're going to a food market, a beer festival and to feed the ducks. Have you got any exciting plans? xxx

Joe Browns

Until recently Joe Browns wasn't a company that i had come across but after being contacted by them and asked to do a review i had a good look at their site to find out more.

Joe Browns was started in 1998 aiming to offer clothing that is more individual then your average clothes catalogue. As well as a catalogue you can shop online on the easy to use website. I love the fact that you can read reviews from customers about each item, its really handy for help with sizing and materials and also its great feedback for the company too.

My favourite parts of the site were the womens dresses(of course) and the bracelets.

I was very kindly offered the chance to pick a couple of items from the site to review. I could of chosen from a section of casual tops, dresses or even accessories.

The first item i chose was this bracelet, i love the phrase on it "wherever you go, bring your own sunshine" and its very pretty on.

Photobucket
I also chose this tea dress(suprise, suprise), its really lovely, the print is pretty and the fit is really good on me. I even got a compliment from Phil about it.

Watch out for both of these items in my outfit photos over the next few days.

I'm really impressed with this site, its always nice to have things that are a bit dfferent from whats on the high street. I've now got my eye on their maxi dresses for the summer.

Have you shopped with Joe Browns before? Let me know what you think!
