Review: Lush Hippy Chick Bath Ballistic

I've not used this bath ballistic before so thought i'd do a quick review on it.
Photobucket
Lush say 'Chicks everywhere need this zesty grapefruit bath ballistic. The bohemian, refreshing scents of frankincense and citrus essential oils will perk up even the most boring baths as it fizzes off into the water. Drop it in when you're in need of a spring in your step this Easter. Anyone who loves our grapefruit-loaded Happy Hippy shower gel will love the Hippy Chick. It's clucking great, so buy-buy-birdy.' taken from the Lush website.

When buying bath ballistics i tend to go for sweetie smelling ones so this was a slight change for me. When i popped it into the bath my whole bathroom smelled really fresh and citrus-sy which was lovely, the ballistic dissolved super speedily and left the water nice and clear rather then changing the colour. I found it didn't make the water feel as soft and silky as some other ballistics do, but i did feel squeaky clean after my soak. At £1.90 its cheaper then most of the ballistics they sell and i would say its good value for money, i would use it for a bath in the day rather then a bath before bed due to the scent.

Have you tried this one? Do you have a favourite ballistic? (mine used to be Youki-Hi but they don't sell it now so i tend to get Vanillary instead) xxx

Bill and Ben

When i saw this flowerpot print dress months ago i fell in love, the print is so quirky but back then summer seemed a long time away and i put off getting it. Roll forward a couple of months and i have a christening to go to and the dress is in the sale for £20 oh and i have a discount code for a further 25% off.... fate? i like to think so.

I was worried that it might be too short for a christening, but i needent have worried, the outfits that some people wore just amazed me. Boobs and bums were both on display and also a bit of sheer thrown in for good measure, i'm not normally so bitchy but its not really appropriate to wear something where your neon pink underwear shows through to a church!

Maybe i'm getting old!

Reserved

I got a bit of a surprise this morning, in the shape of Phil being on one knee and asking me to marry him! I won't go into the details as i don't want to embarrass him but it was exactly how i wanted it, no huge public declarations for me!

The ring(as thats what you all want to see!) is one I'd been admiring in a local jewellers who sell vintage rings. Its gold with amethyst and diamonds and a bit big for me so its going back to the shop(sob) for resizing next week.

Hope you all have amazing weekends!

The Hepworth Wakefield

A couple of weeks ago me, Phil and Seb went along to the brand new Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield. The gallery is the largest purpose built exhibition space outside of London and has caused much debate in the local area due to its less then beautiful appearance(many a letter appeared in the local paper!)
Photobucket
I'm not an art buff at all but as it is so local to me(my parents live less then 5 minutes drive away and my old work is just a couple of buildings away) i wanted to check it out.
The gallery houses a mixture of exhibitions from contempary artists, work from Wakefields art collection and also rare pieces by Barbara Hepworth who was born in the city.
Photobucket
The gallery was very busy when we visited, which suprised me as it was a weekday morning. We received a really friendly welcome by a staff member who gave us a gallery guide and told us where the lifts were and where the baby changing was if we needed to use it. We had a really good look round and though as previously stated i know nothing about art, i enjoyed it. We were going to eat in the cafe but sadly there was nowhere to sit so instead we settled for a look around the shop and a play on the swings.

Photobucket

I will definately be going back again, most likely with my mum and when Sebs bigger i also fancy the toddler art and craft sessions that they hold in the week.

For more info on the Hepworth visit their website here.

Candy stripes

This outfit is from last week, no shoes as it was just a lazy day at home. I love this vest although i don't think its entirely flattering it is very comfy and culottes are fab when rolling around on the floor with Seb.

Please ignore the immense pile of washing in the background, it is now washed, dry and away!

I'm back!

Woohooo, everythings up and running again. Its been a nightmare, no internet and then my phone broke. I've now got a shiny new smartphone though so i can't complain too much. I hope everybody is well? Its been nice to have a break from blogging and i'm finding myself really positive about my upcoming posts.

We've been quite busy here. I've been to London with Seb and my mum to visit my sister and her new baby(so tiny!), visited the Hepworth Gallery and of course shopped. I thought i'd ease back in with a quick haul post.

I've been tagged

by the lovely Lisa from The Brunette Diaries.

Apparantly this means entertaining blog but if you know any different then let me know please!

There are a list of questions for me to answer so here goes...

If you did another blog, what about it could be?

I do! I write Sebs threads but to be honest its hard to find the time to write two blogs so posts are not regular on there.

If you could change your name, what would it be?

I've always loved the same Willow, sadly as my surname is also a tree it would be ridiculous.

If you could born again, would you like to be a man or a woman?

A woman for sure. Women are amazing!

If you could realize one wish, what could be?

That Seb has a fantastic and happy life.

If you had a power, which one would you like to have?

To cure illnesses.

If you had to buy a lot of perfumes from one specific brand, which one would be?

Chanel of course, i love my No.5 but would also need to go for something lighter.

If you had won a holiday, which place would you like to go?

Necker Island please :)

Now i'm meant to tag 3 others but i'm going to leave it open for all to do x

Food review: The Very Lazy Company

When i talk about cooking on this blog it tends to be about baking so i thought i'd do something different today.

This is my own review, i haven't been contacted by anyone to do this.

I love cooking, i find it relaxing and fun. However when Phils not getting home from work until 9pm I really don't fancy making a meal from scratch.

The Very Lazy Company first came to my attention years ago with their Lazy Garlic which is always handy to have around for adding flavour to things. But they now have loads of new products including Very Lazy Creamy Chicken Cooking Concentrate(retails at around £1.50) which i saw in a magazine and thought i'd give it a whirl.

Firstly i like the packaging, i like how the instuctions are on the inside of the cardboard wrapping rather then in tiny letters on the jar.
Photobucket Photobucket
To make it you need the concentrate(obviously), 500g diced chicken breast, 150ml double cream and 100ml of water. Then something to serve it with, i went for rice.

It was really the most simple thing to cook, all you have to do is fry the chicken for 5 minutes, add the concentrate and cook for 2 minutes then add the water and cream give it a stir and then cook for 15 minutes.

Photobucket

The jar makes enough to serve 4 people, as theres only 2 of us i just reduced the amount of chicken. We had quite alot of sauce left over but i think you could get around this by just using half of the jar and storing the rest in the fridge to use another time. For the 2 of us the whole meal cost about £5 which is pretty good when you consider how much chicken costs.

The finished result(why do i alway go overboard on rice?)
Photobucket

I'm really impressed with this; its quick, easy and tasty.
Whats your quick easy meal?
