When i talk about cooking on this blog it tends to be about baking so i thought i'd do something different today.
This is my own review, i haven't been contacted by anyone to do this.
I love cooking, i find it relaxing and fun. However when Phils not getting home from work until 9pm I really don't fancy making a meal from scratch.
The Very Lazy Company first came to my attention years ago with their Lazy Garlic which is always handy to have around for adding flavour to things. But they now have loads of new products including Very Lazy Creamy Chicken Cooking Concentrate(retails at around £1.50) which i saw in a magazine and thought i'd give it a whirl.
Firstly i like the packaging, i like how the instuctions are on the inside of the cardboard wrapping rather then in tiny letters on the jar.
To make it you need the concentrate(obviously), 500g diced chicken breast, 150ml double cream and 100ml of water. Then something to serve it with, i went for rice.

It was really the most simple thing to cook, all you have to do is fry the chicken for 5 minutes, add the concentrate and cook for 2 minutes then add the water and cream give it a stir and then cook for 15 minutes.
The jar makes enough to serve 4 people, as theres only 2 of us i just reduced the amount of chicken. We had quite alot of sauce left over but i think you could get around this by just using half of the jar and storing the rest in the fridge to use another time. For the 2 of us the whole meal cost about £5 which is pretty good when you consider how much chicken costs.
I'm really impressed with this; its quick, easy and tasty.

ReplyDeleteIT's made me hungry and I've only just had tea! I really like these foodie posts xx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really handy to have in the cupboard. I'm terrible with cooking rice - I've had to resort to those microwaveable packets because I just can't cook the right amount when I make it from packet rice.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to try this out, looks perfect when I'm feel lazy but want something more then a micro meal. My favourite quick meal would probably be stirfry, healthy but so simple!
