What i love about Christmas

Decorations and twinkling fairy lights in peoples home and gorgeous lights when out and about late night shopping.

Carol singers always get me feeling festive.

Food and drink. Turkey, pigs in blankets, shortbread, gingerbread, hot chocolate, mulled wine all delicous.

The Snowman. I have to watch this every year. This year we've got it on DVD and i can't wait to sit and watch.

Cosiness. Fires, cuddling up under blankets,wrapping up snug against the cold when you go out.

And saving the most important until last, family. This year family has a whole new meaning to me, i can't wait to wake up on Christmas morning with my little family and to start our own yearly traditions. Seb will probably sleep through it all but he is the best present me and Phil could ever have.

Outfit of the day

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, it was a really nice day. I ended up having the smallest glass of wine ever, but boy i could really feel it!

Happy Birthday to meeeeeeee!

Wow 27 sounds so old, i don't feel it at all!

I'm not sure what happened with my last post, it was meant to be scheduled but went on today for some reason! Nevermind.

Its been the quietest birthday ever. Phil managed to get this morning off work so he did all of the night feeds with Seb and i got a full nights sleep :)

Seb has obviously been reading my blog recently as for my birthday he got me a lovely mummy card(he's so clever he can write!) and the panda hat i wanted! I love it soo much!

I've also been given Nina Ricci perfume(from Phil), Kylie Darling perfume set, Chocolate smellies set, sparkly shoe moneybox, chocolate shoes, a humungous scarf and the cutest tea for one set. My mum is taking me clothees shopping for a present, i'm going to wait until the new year when Phil is off work so i can leave Seb with him rather then dragging him round the shops and me and my mum can have a serious shop.

I also got a bag of Lush goodies :)

And homemade cakes with mini eggs on top :)

This afternoon has just been me and Seb who is being very good and sleeping

Phil will be home from work at about 9pm so we're having a takeaway and i'm going to have my first taste of alcohol since the start of March. Just one glass of wine but it'll probably get me drunk!

Its been a long time

so be gentle. I've not done an outfit post in an age but i'm hoping to get back into it now. Still carrying some baby weight, i can't wait until 10 more weeks and i can do some stomach crunches.

This was worn to go to my parents and to a friends house with Seb. A black best would be farrrr better!

... for my birthday and Christmas. I don't really expect presents, especially now Seb is here and i'd love to receive anything but heres a few bits i have my eye on.

River Island Panda Hat, i've wanted this since last winter, its so cute and will be fab for when i go out on walks with Seb.

Finally these two Zara dresses are currently being admired by moi, i love the floral ones colours and shape and the cream looks lovely and warm and i love the bow

ELF Matte Finisher Nail Polish Review

Sebastians fast asleep and Phil has gone back to work today after his paternity leave. So i'm catching up on reading blogs and posting.

I finally got round to ordering the Matte Finisher from ELF about 3 weeks ago, it took 2 weeks to arrive(not the fault of ELF, stupid Royal Mail held it for ages) but was worth the wait and its ticked an item off of my wish list.

I've never used a Matte polish before so i was keen to try and for £1.50 it really didn't matter if i didn't like it.

You can use this over any colour nail polish to create a matte finish in seconds. I chose to use it over Barry M's dark green as its a colour i love and it reminds me of the colour of Christmas trees! Heres the before, shiny(messy nails).

I love it, it really does work in seconds and dries so quickly. You can actually see it working on your nails. Every time i order from ELF i'm more impressed, they offer such good quality products for such low prices and they always have offers on. I did order some other bits which i'll review when i get the chance.

What is everyone upto this weekend?

Phil is working long hours all weekend so me and Seb are going to my parents on Saturday for the day, hopefully we'll hit the shops as its my birthday on Monday and my mum wants to buy me my present. Also while i'm over there i'll be popping into a friends so she can meet Seb.

Nail of the day

Back to normality(well kind of). So far Seb is proving to be a really contented easy baby, he's gained weight, the midwife says he's thriving and i'm lucky to be healing nicely too. As he spends big chunks of time sleeping at the moment i've been able to keep things fairly normal including keeping my nails neat and tidy, its a small thing but makes me feel like myself.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of the lovely comments that were left on my last post. Seb is 8 days old already, no idea where the time has gone, he is fab, i can't actually believe how in love i am. I'm recovering nicely and my waist is appearing again so soon i'll be back doing proper blogging. Don't worry i'm not going to become all boring and just post baby photos everyday but i can't help but show him off at the moment!

My gorgeous boy.

Sebastian Oliver Lofthouse-Burch (or little Seb!)

Born 30th November 2010 at 6.50pm after being in labour for nearly 48 hours i had an emergency cesearean section. A really horrific birth but i won't scare you and put you off!

He weighs 8lb 4 and is perfect in every single way. We're home from hospital now and all getting to know each other.
