In the navy

Yesterday i braved Ikea with my mum. Ikea on a weekend and with my mum are both stressful but put together i was expecting mega stress, but we had a lovely time. I needed to go to start getting some weddingy bits and i did quite well getting pretty much everything i needed and i think we decided on our table centrepieces.
We then went on a old mill which has been converted into shops just for a little look and then i came home to an empty house. Its unheard of for me to have the house to myself, Phil and Seb were at Phils parents and i didn't know what to do with myself!

I also love the necklace, but the heart fell off while we were in Ikea, its the first time i've worn and i wasn't exactly doing anything to it so i'm a bit dissapointed, hoping i can fix it though.

Last night, Phil went out with the boys and i stayed at home and enjoyed the peace, watched casualty and ate pick n mix.

These shoes of mine

I have long loved the Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon shoes, and when i spied this pair on the Sarenza site i got a little bit excited as they are THE perfect wedding shoes and that is what i have been looking for.
The colour couldn't be more perfect for my wedding and lets face it they are just gorgeous! However with a £143 price tag they are not cheap and as a stay at home mum i don't have money to burn these days.
I emailled a picture of them to my mum who in turn showed them to all the girls at her work and the verdict was ohmygod, they are amazing!
I pondered ordering them and even tweeted about my indecision all the while checking back on the site to make sure they were still in stock, they were, one pair left in my size.

So, i ordered them! These lovlies will soon be winging their way to me.

I heard that the Boots 75% off sale was starting today and as i was going to be in town anyway this morning i thought i would check it out. It was ridiculously busy, people had trolleys full of stuff, most people were going for Soap and Glory and buying loads and loads.Heres my haul

The Body Shop have a fab sale on at the minute, i took advantage and stocked up on the Body Butters that were selling for £5 each! I also used the discount code BUTTER to get £2 off making each one just £3!!
I got Papaya, Brazil Nut, Wild Cherry, Blueberry and Passion Fruit.
I'm not sure if the code is still valid but its worth a try.

I have been sent Coco before Chanel DVD from LoveFilm this week, i've been wanting to see it for ages. Have you seen it?

Cute socks, with the freezing weather we're having i've constantly had socks on my feet. How cute are these Topshop ones?!We have booked a mini holiday to Haven on the coast in April. I can't wait, its right by the beach(fingers crossed for sun) has indoor swimming pools and soft play for Seb.

This week i won £100 of spa vouchers! I've never been to a spa before so i'm really excited! Are there any treatments you recommend?

I'm really getting into my wedding planning now, we still need a photographer and i need a dress though!

Benefit high beam is amazing, i got some free in Glamour and haven't really used it until now but i love it.

Outs
My friend Clare is moving to Wales with her boyfriend in February. Obviously i'm happy for her but sad for me!

Annoying ebay buyers, seriously if you bid on something please pay for it!

And the biggie, i've put on weight. Bleurggh. I've not been that body confident since having Seb, i loved my bump but because it was so big, its not just pinged back into shape(i'm so envious of those ladies who snap back into shape!) and its covered in awful stretchmarks despite the creams i used and am still using. Anyway i've now put on some weight too and just feel horrible. I've ordered some aerobics DVD's(no way am i trying the 30 day shred again!) and am going to do them as much as i can as well as cutting out some of the rubbish in my diet.

A trip to the the library

Me and Seb popped to the library this morning, and also had a look around the few shops in our little town. Our Boots still had loads of half price Soap and Glory gift sets left but i resisted as i have soo much stuff to use up.
Its gone really cold again here, typical the day after we received a huge gas bill and vowed to cut down on the amount we use!

Nail of the day: Accessorize Rock Star Superstar

This is my fiest polish from Accessorize. I randomly added it onto an order i was placing as it was in the sale and I liked the name Rock Star Superstar!

To be honest i love the colour but i found the polish to be not that great. I had to apply quite a few coats and it still was streaky. It also chipped really quickly.
Its a shame as they have some lovely colours in the range and its really put me off buying from them again.

I felt a little bit fairytale-y in this outfit with the deer and the earrings. This outfit was from Sunday, me and Seb went to my parents for the day and we popped into town to have a look in the shops.

Christmas cookies jar reduced to £2.40 in Sainsbury's. Put away in the cupboard for next year! I also got a cake stand in New Look of all places but i'll do a photo of that once i've baked something to go on it.

As a curvy girl, i am always interested in finding new places that cater for those us of with some junk in our trunk!
One Stop Plus does exactly that! Its your one stop for fashion in sizes 14-36. Its not a brand i had heard of before so when I was recently contacted and asked if i would like to try something from the site i thought i would give it a whirl!

I was sent this lace sleeved knitted dress. Its a bargain for £19, the material is really nice and soft and the lace sleeves don't irritate the skin on your arms. Its a nice comfy dress. I did find the arms a little bit long but thats probably because i am only 5 ft so don't have particularly long arms!

I paired with some bright smurf blue tights and my black bow shoes.

I'm thinking of wearing it with a bright coloured long sleeved top underneath next time to show through the lace.

The site has some really lovely pieces in and currently have a huge sale on. I'm loving this cardi with elbow patches to wear open over dresses.

Sales shopping part 2

Our new camera charger arrived finally so i can take photos again, i never realised how much i used the camera!
As promised here is the rest of my sales(and non sale)buys.

From the Lush sale, just this little set as i already have far too much bath stuff to use up.
In TK Maxx, i got this tin reduced to £2, i love their home section, its full of gems. I'm not sure what i'll do with this yet but i like it.
Phil got me this birdcage in the Boots sale, again i'm not sure where i'll put it or what i'm going to do with it but i like it alot
I did also get some new underwear and a body wash gift set but they aren't exciting to look at!

Now onto non sales buys
I've been looking for some perfect navy pumps forever but nowhere seems to have them, Phil spotted these in Primark and they are lovely and soft. They aren't excatly what i had in mind but are ideal for now. Also Primark facewipes.

I'm still waiting for my new camera charger to turn up, its taking forever to arrive(well it feels like forever!). This outfit was from Monday, we didn't do much just a walk, and had Phils parents round in the afternoon.
I really should have added some colour into my outfit.

Yesterday we braved the awful weather to pop into Wakefield so we could put Sebs Christmas money into his trust fund(he is now better off then me), we also popped into the pub for lunch and had a look around the shops. I was amazed when i went into Lush and they still had loads of half price gift sets left. I only got one small one as i really don't need any smellies, but there was so much left, so if you're still after stuff its worth checking your local store.

Happy New Year

We had a rather uneventual New Years Eve, watching rubbish tv with a takeaway, we weren't even sure we would make it until midnight(we managed, just!).

Yesterday me and Seb have been busy, we went to my friend Clares house, then to my parents for lunch and then finally we went to my nephews 2nd birthday party and got home just in time for Sebs milk and then bed. He slept through until 9am this morning which was bliss :)

Sales shopping

Every year there are stories on the news about the madness when the sales hit. I sued to love going with my elbows sharpened and ready to fight my way through but i can't be bothered anymore. I use the internet instead!

I hit the M&S sale first hoping for some new underwear but sadly there wasn't much on offer. Instead i got some bits for Seb and just a little purse for me.

Topshop was next on my list and i was pleased to see this dress reduced, i've wanted it for ages, loads of bloggers have it and its so pretty. It arrived today and its gorgeous although it seems to be sized very generously.

On Forever 21 i ordered this cardi(also arrived todayand is very soft)And this canvas bag which isn't in the sale but was a whole £1.25!Finally i popped onto New Look and ordered these shoes which match the dress and cardi, they are very very high!
We went into our little local town this week too theres not loads of shops but it was nice to have a look in the shops without the mad crush. I will post what i got but i'm still waiting for our new camera charger to arrive.

A bit of green sparkle for the festive season. Phil got me this polish for my birthday, its OPI Fresh Frog of Belair from the Muppets Collection.
The pictures of are of 4 coats of the polish and its still not totally opaque, so this polish would be much better layered over another colour but its very pretty all the same :)

Who doesn't love a pair of sparkly heels? Especially at this time of year!

Ellos recently asked me to review an item from their website and i was instantly drawn to these beauties, aren't they lovely! Not only are they gorgeous but they are also super comfy, the 4 inch heel is made more wearable by the platform. I'm always wary of courts as they tend to slip off my feet but these fit me really well and stay exactly where they should.
I'm currently wearing mine with black opaques and they are set to my shoe of the season. As well as black you can also get them in gold or silver. They would be a fab addition to your New Years Eve outift.

Birthday girl

Well yesterday i turned 28, doesn't time fly when you're having fun?!
I'm not going to do a birthday haul post, but i got lots of lovely things including Soap and Glory goodies and OPI Fresh Frog of Belair polish from the muppets collection.

Mummy Monday: A few photos

Well its been a week of teething, colds and a big fall.
Seb somehow managed to fall out of his highchair while me and Phil were stood within a metre of him, and we still can't quite work out how he did it. Luckily he is bouncy and is fine, but i felt like the worst mother in the world, until my mum reminded me of all the accidents we had as children. Its funny how dealing with other peoples children when hurt is much easier then your own.

Lace and bows

Last night i met up with an amazing group of ladies. We all met on a baby site while pregnant and all had our babies in November 2010 and last night there was a group night out in Leeds, for those that could come(some even travelled from Scotland!). It was so lovely to meet everyone, we have shared alot over the last 18 months!
Stupidly i have no photos of my outfit from the night but i have photos of what i was wearing before.

Its my birthday on Tuesday and Phil is working all day, so tomorrow the 3 of us are going out for lunch and a look around the shops in either Leeds or Wakefield.

At the weekend Phil offered to buy me a little present for being fabulous and getting our rent issues sorted out. Straight away i knew what i wanted!
After seeing Lauras recent post on Petal Jewellery i had been meaning to place a little order for some earrings.
I went for two pairs of earrings and they arrived today wrapped prettilly
I went for The Nightengale earrings and the Sleeping Beauty earrings, both gorgeous! They were only £4 a pair and with really reasonable delivery.
These would make a gorgeous gift for someone or a mini treat for yourself.

Mummy Monday: Festive makes and meeting the big man

Yesterday me and my mum took Seb to meet the man himself, Father Christmas! Seb was so good, we had to queue for an hour to meet him and he fell asleep and i had to wake him but he was fine. I wasn't sure if he'd be a bit scared but no, he loved him!

Yesterday was pretty quiet, Phil was working and me and Seb stayed in waiting for our food delivery and did some painting.
We've been a bit stressed this week as our landlord wanted to put our rent up from January when our new contract started, which would have meant us having to move, but i called and challenged it as theres bigger places for rent in the same area for less money and they phoned back and said we can stay and carry on with the current rent. That a weight off my mind as we really like it here and have lovely neighbours.
Anyway onto my outfit!

I love this cardigan, its years old and was buried at the back of my wardrobe but its coming back out now.

I did a couple of little online orders on Friday.
Topshop are offering free delivery at the moment so i did a teeny tiny order to get the squirral donate bracelet(i couldn't get a photo of it to save) and the policeman socks as seen on Lauras blog.
I've also ordered this from Dorothy Perkins. I'm going out next weekend, so if this fits well i'll be wearing it with opaques and my sparkly shoes i think.

Today i'm going to my parents, and my mum and i are going to take Seb to meet Santa :)

Well today was Sebs party.
I was very dissapointed that lots of people didn't bother to turn up or even let us know they weren't going to come, its so rude as we went to alot of effort and ended up with loads of wasted food.
However the people that did come had a lovely time, and the children played really well together. I'll post a few pics tomorrow but heres what i wore.

Its time to party

Being totally honest i would say that i have bought many items from George in the past but never really though to look at their party clothes, i'm not sure why. I can't quite believe that my little tiny baby is a whole year old today!

Its gone so fast.

His party isn't until Sunday so today has been pretty quiet, we opened his presents from us this morning and he had his first taste of cake(and chocolate) but didn't think that much of it and threw it on the floor, preferring his cheese on toast.To celebrate surviving a year, i have some champagne to drink tonight :)

Nail of the day: Models Own Emerald City

I have wanted this polish forever and finally got round to ordering it last week. I love Models Own polishes anyway, they are great quality.

This is an amazing green glitter in a clear base. One coat gives a sparkly layer, 3 coats(as i have on here) give an opaque glitter finish.

How quick did Sunday evening come round?!
This weekend has been busy, on Friday i went Christmas shopping with my mum and Seb, yesterday me and Phil went to Ikea and then to Bella Pasta for lunch and a look around some other shops. Then today we have spent the whole day deep cleaning our flat as our agent is coming round to inspect tomorrow. We've also got rid nearly all of Sebs bottles, steriliser and other baby bits and sent all thebaby clothes we are keeping to Phils parents to store.

My buys recently seem to have a very wintery theme.
I won a £30 tesco voucher this week by taking part in a twitter comp, i ordered some bits for Seb but also got a few bits for me.

Review: Lush Magic Wand Bubble Bar

You may have seen that i got this when i went into Leeds and I thought i would do a quick review of this as i'm guessing its something alot of you will be giving or receiving this Christmas!
The Magic Wand Bubble Bar is a solid version of the famous Snow Fairy, so it smells very sweet and girly. I love that they have made this scent into a bubble bar as i love the scent but much prefer baths over showering. The fact that they have made it into a wand with ribbon and a bell really appeals to me, for pure cuteness.

Its really easy to use. You just wave your wand under running water several times.
Stand whats left of your wand up to dry.
And relax in a lovely smelling bubbly bath
The bubbles and scent lasted the 30 minutes or so that i was in the bath which i was really happy with.
I really like this product, its an ideal stocking filler(hope Phil is reading this!), it smells good and looks sweet. I also like that you can use it more then once, i think i will probably get around 4 uses out of this so it makes the price of £4.95 quite reasonable.
I'll probably be getting a couple of these as little gifts for people.

I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about giving(or receiving this)!

Holidays are coming

I'm sure you have all seen the Coca Cola advert by now, now its on we can officially get excited for Christmas :)
Yesterday was superbusy, we had a man come over to do a check on our Gas appliances, then went shopping, then to my parents house and then me and Phil had to go and see some people about chairs for our wedding. We finally got home at about 8pm and then Phil went out to play football.

Leeds part 2

Mittens on a string! Love them!! I wanted to get a matching hat but they were all massive. I did try a lovely hat in H&M kids which was size 5-8 years and fit me perfectly!
Cath Kidston mug, i'm currently overhauling my mug collection so that they are all pretty. Also pictured is a big boys cutlery set for Sebs stocking.In Lush i got the new Rose Queen bath ballistic(used already and its lovely), an old favourite Butterball bath ballistic and the wand bubble bar which i can't wait to use!

Leeds German Christmas market

Last Friday we went into Leeds, mainly because i wanted to visit the German market in Millenium Square.
I've never actually been before but had heard lots of good things about the market so was eager to have a look. As well as the market they also have fairground rides, i loved this carousel.

There are over 40 stalls at the market selling food, drink, jewellery, toys and decorations. I loved the stall selling knitted hats, the man working there was really lovely and friendly.

We actually didn't buy too much, as i only had limited cash in my purse and the queue for the cash machine was immense.
We got these truffles, which were lovely!
These chocolate covered marshmallow things(i don't know the real name!) they came in different flavours, Phils was After Eight and i went for White Chocolate.
Finally we got Seb this wooden hanging toy for his room.
The market is on until 18th December so we will be going back as theres so many nice bits for presents. We left feeling really festive!

Mummy Monday: I'm still standing

My clever boy has started to pull himself to standing for the last 2 weeks! He thinks he is so clever and he can reach EVERYTHING!!
He has taken to standing at the stairgate and posting things through it and down the stairs.
I love this photo! He is waiting for his bath to finish running here!He has also started walking along while holding onto things, very tentative at the moment but i'm sure he'll be cruising around everywhere!

I also got some very exciting news this weekend, my brother and sister in law are expecting a new baby in May next year. It will be my parents 10th grandchild!! I hope its a girl as the last 4 babies have been boys and i want to look at girlie things!

Last week the H&M Christmas home catalogue and a small catalogue dropped through my letterbox. The home collection had me drooling, i loved the decorations and the bedding(though it only seems to come in double?). I was going to order a couple of the Christmas decorations online but sadly the ones i wanted weren't on there yet, so i erm ordered some other bits instead.

Its quite rare for me to buy a new handbag, i'm much more of a shoe girl but last weekend i bought two.

First up this bright pink bow bag from H&M, I think i'll more then likely tuck the chain in and use it as a clutch.
Then this beauty from Primark. I love this style and would love a vintage one but our local charity shops are pretty useless on the vintage front.
I also got these fab tights in Primark. I won tickets to a burlesque night and i think these will look fantastic with my outfit. Have any of you been to a burlesque night? Its going to be my first time.

The vintage style design and colouring is very sweet and the buttons add a bit of texture and its on offer at the moment so is a bargainous £7.99.
I was very pleased to discover that its the perfect size for our library books so it has become our new book bag.

Meet the Palmers

I thought i'd do a little post on one of my favourite brands today, Palmers.
I've been using them since i was a teen and seem to have quite a collection going at the moment, even Seb is getting in on the act! I love that they are affordable for everyone, do their job well and they smell amazing.

The face scrub is a new product for me, i kept seeing their facial skincare products and finally got round to buying one so i may well review it.
We use the baby butter when doing baby massage on Seb after his bath, i much prefer it to the traditional baby lotion. The bottom butter is also Sebs, no nappy rash yet!

I've read that Palmers do hair products in other countries, i just wish i could get them here, i really want to try them!

Mummy Monday: Reading

I was shocked when a recent survey found that 1/3 of children in this country don't own a book. How can that be? You can buy books for next to nothing in charity shops and poundshops and there is even the Bookstart scheme where you are given a few free books for your child. I find the statistic very odd and sad.
Reading a book together is so important, not only does it aid development, it gives you time where you are sat close and having one on one time. You don't even need a be a good reader as you can make up your own stories just using the pictures.
I'm an avid reader and have read to Seb since he was tiny, and we now have it as part of his bedtime routine each night. Its one of the few times Seb allows me to cuddle as him as he now wants to be on the move all the time.
We have special books that we keep on his book shelf and others that are in his toybox that he can play with, he loves playing with them and will lie on the floor flicking through and chuckling to himself.
We also regularly go to the library, and come home with a bag bulging with books. I think its fantastic that the library lets you take 15 books out on a childs card and they don't charge overdue fines either. Our local library also runs a pre school group on Wednesday mornings which i;m going to be taking Seb too when he turns 1.
I hope Seb will grow up loving books but even if he isn't an avid reader i am determined that he will be able to read properly as it seems many children are leaving school without this vital skill.

In other news we now have 4 teeth!

I popped to our local shopping centre earlier this week to pick up some bits in the Early Learning Centre sale and couldn't resist having a look in the sales. I was so dissapointed, i couldn't find anything i really loved in the clothes or shoes sections.
However i managed to pick up a couple of nice bits of jewellery. Firstly i got pearl cluster earrings in Miss Selfridge for £1, these will be nice with my cream lace dress.
Then i got a couple of more quirky bits to add to my collection, the brooch was just £1 and the goldfish in a bowl necklace was half price in Topshop. I loooooove both of these, the brooch will be great on a scarf.

I also picked up some lovely Christmas decorations in Marks and Spencer, i'm getting so excited for it this year :)

Well we did it! As long as nobody objects, me and Phil are now able to get married. I was so nervous this morning, we had to be spoken to separately, asked questions about each other and then it was done!
We had a lovely lunch and a mooch around the charity shops(nothing much there), popped to Asda and then came home to make homemade burgers.
The weather was sooo cold today!! We had to put Seb in his hat, gloves and little soft boots(which he proceeded to remove and also took his socks off).

On Monday night i went out for an Indian for my friends birthday.
It was a new restaurant that we went to, and it was so lovely! As it was student night, i had a hilarious wait at the bus stop when waiting for my bus home with some lovely boys who decided i needed cuddling.

We're also off the local pub for lunch and then in the afternoon we are going to see the health visitor for a development check, i'm looking forward to finding out his weight and height!

I got 2 new polishes from Boots 17 last week yay! I am going to make it my mission this week to sort through my polishes and just keep the ones i really love.

Mummy Monday: Messy Play

I have decided to organise my blog a bit more so rather then having random posts, each Monday i am going to a post purely about Seb and me. I'm just so proud of him i want to tell the world about all his new little tricks. It will vary in its content each week.
Feel free to ignore if you come here for fashion/make up, i won't be offended!

This last week we have done lots of messy play. I have quite alot of ideas on this as my background is in childcare. These activities are great fun and promote so many areas of development. I did think about setting up a seperate blog for activities to do with babies but am not sure if i'd get much interest.

I made up some angel delight, popped it into a tub with plastic spoons, forks, paintbrushes and sponges and let him do as he pleased. This kept him amused for over 30 minutes, lots of squidging and painting with it. Its also great as they can eat it(obviously not ideal) but its not going to harm them so is safer then using paints so you don't have to constantly be poised to grab them incase they eat it all.
We have been collecting Autumn leaves and used some of them to paint with, i mixed up browns, oranges and red, dipped the leaves in and then let Seb drag them on the paper.
And finally jelly. I made up some sugar free jelly and put it all on his high chair tray with some cups so he could put it in and tip it out. Like the angel delight its edible and Seb did alot of eating with this one!
He is at such a great age now, into everything and full of beans. When he wakes up in the morning he sits up in his cot and shouts dadadada as Phil is usually the first up in our house and goes to grab him from the cot. He only tends to say mama when he has had a bump or is angry and having a tantrum. We also get yumyumyum and uh-oh.
He thinks he's super clever when he claps and also loves nothing better then to pull himself up onto his knees and turn the TV off.

I have mainly been

waiting for various parcels to come including one from Zara containing Sebs winter coat and my shamelessly copied tee(Laura i'm not a stalker i promise!)
Planning Sebs birthday party! Pirate theme, i'm so over excited about this! Invites are ordered and on the way!
Getting messy. Now the weather has turned and we are staying in more, its time to get creative. So far we have painted, squidged(and eaten) jelly, collected Autumn leaves and printed with them and glued them and made up angel delight and used that paint with, eat and squidge through our hands.
Reading the River Cottage Baby and Toddler Cookbook, i got this out of the library and its really fab, a must have for any mums reading.
Gone chocolate crazy, after a stressful start to the week i gorged on chocolate by eating it, drinking it, having a face mask made from it and painting my toes chocolate brown.

A leopard never changes its spots

A quick outfit from Saturday, when we popped into Wakefield to look round the shops and had a pub lunch. I love taking Seb for lunch now, he just eats some of whatever i'm eating(pasta in this case), its so much easier.
I got this dress last year while about 35 weeks pregnant because i loved it so much. I did wear it a couple of times while pregnant and it managed to keep its shape really well.

Autumn Days

Autumn has well and truly arrived, this season always reminds me of Autumn Days which i used to love singing in assembly at school. I wonder if they still sing it in schools now?

Outfit from today, we didn't get up to much, me and Seb did painting and played with bubbles and made some jelly. Also lots of washing and cleaning.
This dress is an old favourite, i drag it out every year. I'm still practising with the self timing photos, i look rather moody here.

No fashion buys from me this last couple of weeks, i seem to have been concentrating on beauty buys.
When we went into Leeds last week i couldn't resist a peek into Harvey Nichols.
First up, a new Chanel polish, i got Quartz, its such a pretty colour, and will no doubt become one of my staples along with Black Pearl.
I also got another MAC eyeshadow in Tempting, this is gorgeous and will be nice with Amber Lights.I also picked up 2 more polishes No.7 in Betty Blues and Barry M Hologram Hexagrams

Then i also received an ELF order with my favourite Complexion Perfection plus a few other bits(nail polish, blusher, colour sticks and a brush)

Fun in the sun

Well as we all know the last few days have been beautiful.
For me it meant being able to see the bottom of my washing basket again(truely amazing!), spending alot of time in the park, making use of Seb paddling pool and spending time in my parents garden chasing the dogs. Sadly its gone very cloudy and dull here today although still warm. Seb has gone out with Phils parents this afternoon and i literally had no idea what to do with myself. I ended up cleaning and making him a mini cottage pie for when he gets home. What did i do with my time before i had him? I really don't remember.

Arggh my laptop died earlier this week! Flashing screen and weird noises ahoy!
Amazingly i managed to save it by doing a complete system restore and then downloading firefox i am now back online.

New blog layout. I thought it was time for a change, i hope you like it. To honest, i've been finding my blog a bit boring recently(a bit like my wardrobe) my aim is to liven it up again including better outfits(and photos) as i used to do some fab outfits and recently i've been a bit samey.

Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation. I used it for the first time in ages last week and remembered how much i loved it.

Dark vampy nails. Its the time of year for the rich nail shades to come out.

Baking. The Great British Bake Off has been inspiring me to bake again.

Planning Sebs first birthday! Only 2 months until he is 1, the time is flying. We have all of his presents and card, just need wrapping. I'm really not sure what to do for it. Current idea is a pirate themed tea party at our house. Any more exciting ideas? Let me know!

Christmas is coming. Not long to go, i am so excited for it this year!

Firstly what i wore out for lunch with Phils grandma. Shes very elderly, deaf and i'm sure she doesn't like me!

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside

Last week we headed to Bridlington for Sebs first trip to the seaside. We went with Phils parents and dispite my initial misgivings we had a lovely day.
The weather was gorgeous, we played on the beach, ate fish and chips on the seafront and explored the town.
My favourite thing was these fab beach huts, they're so kitsch!

How was it for you?

This weekend has been rather lovely!
Last night i went out on what i would call a proper night out, i got drunk for the first time in 19 months, i danced and generally had a good time. It was very weird(and a wee bit scary) to be out there again after so long but after wine and vodka all weirdness was forgotton. I stayed at my parents house as it was closer to where we went out and it was lovely to be woken up with a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich.

Today me, my mum and Phils mum went to a wedding fayre, i wasn't sure what to expect but it was really lovely, we chatted to loads of people, got free cake and gawped at some beautiful(and some hideous) wedding dresses.
Then me and my mum popped to the shops where i managed to buy......NOTHING!! My mum however managed to get two tops in New Look.

Now i'm home, Seb is in bed, Phil is out playing football and i get to blog :)

Earlier this week we went to our reception venue for another look around and to have a chat about food, music etc. We also popped into a local cupcake shop, i've been wanting to go for ages and for once we had the time to go!

Pure and Simple

Pure Collection is a quality clothing retailer founded in 2002. They pride themselves on their quality goods in contemporary designs and especially on their cashmere range.

I was recently sent the details of its Autumn and Winter range which launched on the 24th August and asked if i would like to review a product from the new range. After browsing the various gorgeous items i chose this gorgeous cashmere leopard print cardigan. As Pure is a new company to me, i was interested to see what the quality would be like.

The cardigan arrived beautifully packaged wrapped in tissue paper and properly folded, i always love a nice packaged product!

The cardigan itself is stunning, the cashmere is super soft and the cardigan fits perfectly and its going to be worn with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.

I have actually recommended Pure to my mum as she loves cashmere so I'm sure she'll be placing an order at some point!

I was very excited when i realised i could order George cosmetics with my online grocery shop, they have some fab nail colours.

The first one i ordered was Shipwrecked

Its a nice creamy polish and had lasted a few days now, not bad for £1.75.

A very quiet weekend

Its been a few days since my last post purely because not much has been going on! I went shopping with my mum on Thursday and we had a look at wedding dresses and various other weddingy things.

We went to Meadowhall and it was packed, i'd forgotton it was the last week of summer holidays. We both ended up buying loads for Seb, he has so many clothes its ridiculous but i just love buying him things, i might do a post with some of his new stuff as its soo cute!

My mum got a gorgeous blouse in Wallis(they really have some nice things at the moment) and i just got a couple of bits.

I got this fab stag necklace in Primark to add to my quirky necklace collection. They aren't being worn too much at the moment as Seb just grabs them but i want them for when he is safe in him pushchair and hopefully he'll soon be past this stage!

I also got this red ruffle front dress, again in Primark

In BHS i got these earrings, its always worth looking in BHS even though its reputation is a bit old ladyish they have gorgeous homewear, tights and the jewellery section has the odd gem.

Just a quick basic outfit for a basic day, playing and going to the park.

Recipe: Cheese and Bacon Soup

This is the first recipe i tried from the new books i got from Marks and Spencer and it was it was a hit. All three of us enjoyed it.

This would serve 4 people so we just halved it for us.

2 tbsp butter

2 garlic cloves

1 large onion

250g/9oz bacon, chopped

2 large leeks, sliced(we didn't use these as Phil won't eat them!)

2 tbsp plain flour

1 litre vegetable stock-i used baby stock cubes as they are low salt

450g/ 1lb of potatoes, chopped

100ml double cream

300g grated cheddar cheese

salt and pepper

Melt the butter in a medium sized pan over a mediumm heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until slightly softened, then add the bacon and leek and cook for around 3 minutes while stirring.

In a bowl mix the flour with a small amount of the stock to form a smooth paste and then stir this into the pan, cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Then pour in the rest of the stock and add the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer gently for 25 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cook through.

Stir in the cream and cook for 5 minutes and then gradually stir in the cheese until it has melted. Remove from the heat and serve garnished with a small amount of grated cheese.

I didn't add salt or pepper as Seb was having some of the soup but to be honest i don't think the soup needs it.

I served it with some lovely sweet cheese bread.

Yesterday as Phil was working all day, me and Seb went to my mums for a roast dinner.

When i got dressed the weather was gorgeous, sunshine and blue skies so i went bare legged.

Today we've been been to see the ducks and on the swings, then walked into town, and tonight we've cooked the most gorgeous soup, it was so good I'm going to do a post this week with the recipe. Phil is off work tomorrow too, hopefully we'll get some sunshine!

Dewsbury-on-sea

Every year our town hosts a free event named Dewsbury-on-sea, they build a beach in the centre of town complete with beach huts and deckchairs, there are donkey rides, a funfair, face painting and even free sticks of rock. I've never been before but this year we decided to take Seb along for a play, he loved the sand, much of it was eaten.

It was really fantastic to see our rundown town full of people enjoying themselves.

Such an event required an outfit that could be covered in sand and water!

Yesterday was Phils day off and it was gorgeous so we went to Wakefield for some lunch.

While there we had a look in the shops, i wanted to use my No.7 voucher in Boots and also wanted some tights. Typically i found other things to buy.

Shoes from New Look. These are much nicer then the photo shows, the colour is fab and the heel is a great height.

I ordered this animal print scarf from the ASOS sale, its really lovely but quite similar to others that i have, so i might give it to my mum

I picked up this dress in Topshop, it has a cut out back. I'm hoping for a good night out soon so will probably wear this then

I spent my No.7 voucher on this polish and i also picked up a polish in Topshop, i'll do posts with these in soon

Phil got me this giant cookie maker last week, i can't wait to use it!

I got these recepie books in the M&S sale for £1 each

And last but not least, we got a new pushchair! This is for me really as our other pushchair is a proper one that comes in more then one piece(can be made into a pram, and you can use the car seat on it) much as i love it, its heavy and big and a pain to get in and out when i'm on my own as we have to go up a flight of stairs to get out. This folds up tiny and in one piece.

Florals and studs

Heres what i wore on Sunday.

To be honest i feel a bit blah about my clothes at the moment, my stomach is still not the same since having Seb and my boobs are still bigger. The result is that my clothes fit but not as well as they used too so i find myself wearing the same things again and again. However i'm now making sure i find the time to do a bit of excercise each day, i don't think my stomach area will ever go back entirely as i really did have a massive bump for my body but hopefully it will help me to feel better about myself.

I'll start with my shoes as these are my favourite part of my outfit!

Simply swim

You may remember a while ago that i reviewed a swimming costume from Simply Beach, well i have also been given the chance to review another costume from their sister site, Simply Swim, which sells yet more lovely swimwear which is more practical.

As regular readers will know we often take Seb swimming so practical swimwear is a must, nobody wants to accidently flash the lifeguards.

After looking through all of the swimsuits i chose the Speedo Luxe Claudezine in Kiki Pink as currently i only have black costumes.

Firstly i'd like to praise how fast the delivery is. It came within 2 days and was well packaged.

Onto the costume! I really liked wearing this, the neckline was flattering and i like the pretty ruffle detailing on the v. My favourite part about the costume is the tummy control! Not very sexy i know, but as my stomach still isn't back to normal from being pregnant it made me feel alot more slimline and confident in the pool.

To summarise, this costumme is practical yet pretty which in my book is a great combo.

Wooo its Friday! What is everyone doing this weekend?

Me and Phil are going to a party tomorrow night so Seb is going to stay at my parents, so no 6am alarm call for me!

Ins and Outs

Its been a while...

Ins
Love film- I joined last month on the basic package and am loving it so far. This week i've received Black Swan to watch.

Seb getting older- This is an in and an out! He is nearly crawling, has learnt to throw things, can roll a ball to me, oh and he has 2 teeth! We got him a paddling pool and filled it with 300 balls, its huge and he loves it!

Great British Bake Off- The new series started on Tuesday, it makes me want to run to the kitchen and bake. Matalan Leggings- These are really fab, the comfiest i've found.

Palmers Cocoa Butter- This is my number one body lotion, i've strayed many times but always come back to it. I also use the baby version on Seb when i do baby massage after his bath.

Outs
Earache- last week and over the weekend i had horrible ear ache. It seems to have calmed down for now. Its such an annoying pain :(

Spots- I am 27 and yet i have 2 huge spots on my forehead, argghhh!
